“The missing pillar in health is Breath”

How you breathe affects everything in your body and mind. At the same time, what happens in your body and mind affects your breathing. The level of stress you experience, the emotions that want to come to the surface, your state of mind; through conscious breathing, you can influence all of these. By observing a breathing pattern, we gather information about where you might be holding tension, and during a breathing session, we help you breathe through it. This releases stagnant energy, allowing it to flow more freely again. How this works exactly is explained below.

  • It was wonderful to be able to look at myself in the mirror and face confrontations. Especially the acknowledgment of feelings and fears has been really beneficial for me. Acknowledging traumas and having compassion for myself. Very beautiful, definitely worth repeating.

Conscious Connected Breathing

Connected breathing is a powerful practice for connecting with your emotional world. It guides you toward blocked energy within your body, helping life energy flow freely once again.

With connected breathing, you can “breathe yourself free” from whatever is holding you back—whether you’re fully aware of it or not. This may include emotional or physical pain rooted in your current life situation or in unprocessed past experiences. Feelings like anger, sadness, or trauma often become stored in our bodies until they have space to be acknowledged and felt. My role is to provide a safe space where these emotions can emerge, allowing them to be transformed.

Alongside processing challenging emotions, connected breathing can awaken deeply positive feelings that are equally important to connect with. Gratitude, joy, openness, vitality, strength, peace, and contentment are just a few of the uplifting emotions people experience through this practice.

  • Denise guides you with a lot of gentleness, warmth, and just the right amount of intensity to places within yourself that you wouldn’t be able to reach through talking alone. It goes so deep and can sometimes be painful, but she always knows how to make you feel safe. Thank you, your breathing sessions are a precious gift.

Benefits of Connected Breathing

  • Physically

Because you start breathing deeply and connected (without pauses), various processes are activated in your body. You may feel warm or cold, experience tingling, and sometimes even cramps. In a way, you're triggering a stress response in your body, which you can breathe through during the session to bring yourself back to a state of calm.

  • Emotionally

When emotions are not expressed, they can become trapped in our bodies. 'Your body cries the tears your eyes can't reach.' Physical complaints are the result. Through breathing, you access these emotions, and the safe setting allows you to truly express them.

  • Mentally

Peace of mind, how nice that sounds. By going through all layers of your consciousness during a breathing session, you can move beyond thinking and, in a way, prioritize your thoughts. What is important and what is not. This creates distance between your thoughts and your reaction to them.

  • Spiritually

Some insights go beyond what we can feel with our bodies or think with our minds. Messages come from another place, like a gift to help you move forward in life. This often happens at the end of the breathing session, when you are in a state of calm.

  • I think it was a beautiful journey and I’m so grateful for my guide, who kept bringing me back to my intention, and created a safe space for healing

Our experience

In recent years, we’ve guided more than 100 groups in connected breathing. Together with fellow breath coaches, we facilitated sessions in many places both in the Netherlands and abroad. The journey of facilitating began in a monastery in Rotterdam, after which came the following locations: a farm in Amsterdam, a township in South Africa, an old barracks loft in Ede, the Vondel Church and the Posthoorn Church in Amsterdam, and several other locations throughout the Netherlands. Currently, we lead connected breath circles in Amsterdam and Ede. For us, finding the right location and people is incredibly important. We carefully choose the people we work with: kind, warm, reliable, and sensitive individuals with a passion for working with people.

  • The whole experience from start to finish was beautifully held. The coaches were brilliant and I felt very safely guided.
